Punjab is located in Northern India and is very Pakistan. Therefore, Punjabi cuisine comprise of both vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes. Punjabi cuisine is rich is spices, flavor and most importantly desi ghee or oil.

Punjabi cuisine is famous for its extra fat contents added to it. In fact Punjabi cuisine is such a cuisine which is universally loved by population of all kinds from all regions of India.

North India is especially famous for its Punjabi food. Punjabi cuisine makes extensive use of all kinds of saags, meat, vegetables and it major staple food is wheat or bajra. Sarso ka saag with bajre ki roti is one of the most famous Punjabi dishes.

Punjabi food is rich in Ghee and high in spices. These two are the basic characteristics of Punjabi food. Punjabi food might be vegetarian as well as non vegetarian.

Some of the major Punjabi dishes are: sarso ka saag, Bean sabzi, Daal Makhni, Rajma Chawal, Dal Amritsari, Rongi, choley, phirni, tandoori chicken, butter chicken, chicken tikka, bhuna gosht, kadai gosht, raan gosht, dal gosht, paye da shorba, nihari gosht where gosht is lamb meat, and fish tikka, fish pakoda, tandoori fish and many more.

Punjabi cuisine uses lamb, mutton, chicken and fish in its non vegetarian dishes and produces to you delicacies like Chicken tikka, fish tikka, gosht that is lamb has dal gosht and mutton curry, butter chicken, tandoori chicken and tandoori fish.

In vegetables, Punjabi cuisines make use of saags like Bathuwa, sarso, spinach and many more. In staples wheat and bajra play the major role. Spices include all kinds of garam masala and other aromatic Indian spices which relishes your taste buds.

It also makes other vegetarian dishes using pulses, beans and paneer that are cheese. These dishes are dal makhni, dal fry, butter paneer, paneer tikka, palak paneer, choley, rajma and much more. All these wonderful dishes combined together make up the Punjabi cuisine which definitely satisfies your palate.
