Paneer Pasanda Recipe: Foodies, here is another paneer recipe, “Paneer Pasanda”. Punjabi dish that is available in every restaurant menu list. This is the time-consuming recipe, so prepare it on special occasions. Gravy is simple to prepare but you can prepare gravy like that of “Paneer Makhani”.

In Paneer makhani, we have to use the generous amount of butter, but in Paneer Pasanda we do not need to add butter. In this blog, I am sharing the easiest way to make the gravy. But you can customize it according to your preference. The main process in this dish is preparing the stuffed paneer sandwich; this recipe is incomplete without it.

Paneer Pasanda Recipe Ingredients: (Paneer Sandwich)

  • Paneer – 300 Gram
  • Arrowroot – 4 Tablespoon
  • Ginger Paste – 1 tablespoon
  • Cashew Nuts – 3-4 Pieces
  • Almonds – 3-4 Pieces
  • Pistachio – 3-4 Pieces
  • Raisins – 5-6 Pieces
  • Oil to fry

Paneer Pasanda Recipe Ingredients for Gravy

  • Tomatoes – 4
  • Green Chilly – 2
  • Cream – 1 Cup
  • Green Coriander Leaves – 2 Tablespoon
  • Turmeric Powder – ½ Tablespoon
  • Ginger – 1 inch, grated
  • Kasuri Meethi – 1 Tablespoon
  • Cumin Seeds – ½ Tablespoon
  • Asafoetida – 1 Pinch
  • Coriander Powder – 1 Tablespoon
  • Red Chilly Powder – ½ Tablespoon
  • Mixed Spices – ¼ Tablespoon
  • Salt – 1 and a half tablespoon

Preparation for Paneer Sandwich

✅ Slice the paneer in 1-inch thick square form. Now, further, slice these square pieces in a triangular form.

✅ Take a 1 and a half-inch slice of paneer, crumble it to make the stuffing. Add all the chopped dry fruits, a pinch of salt, ¼ tablespoon red chilly powder and mix well.

✅ Make the thick paste of arrowroot. (You can also take corn flour or white flour). In a bowl, put 4 tablespoon arrowroot, and 3-4 tablespoon water. Mix well. Check the consistency, it should be thick.

✅ Cut the triangular paneer lengthwise. Partially cut them and put the stuffing in between. Gently press it.

✅ Repeat the process, and make the entire stuffed sandwich.

✅ Put these pieces in arrowroot paste one by one.

✅ Heat oil in the pan; gently drop the sandwich in the pan. Allow the beneath side to turn light brown. Flip the side, and roast another side.

✅ Take these fried sandwiches on the plate.

Preparation for Gravy

✅ Add tomatoes, green chilly, remaining dry fruits, and ginger in the mixer jar.

✅ Grind well and make the fine paste.

✅ Take a pan, heat oil. Add cumin seeds and asafoetida. Sauté it.

✅ Add coriander powder, turmeric powder, kasuri meethi. Mix them well.

✅ Add tomato paste and red chilly powder.

✅ Allow it to cook, roast the mixture well, till the oil separates from it.

✅ Now add 1 cup cream and stir for 2-3 minutes, till it boils.

✅ Add 1 cup water, mixed spices, salt, and mix well. Cook for 1 minute.

✅ Finally, add paneer sandwich, turn off the gas, and cover it for 2-3 minutes.

✅ The dish is ready to serve, garnish it with coriander leaves.

You can serve it with romali rooti, tandoori roti, naan, or parantha.

This is one of the easiest ways to make the gravy. You can modify it. You can make simple gravy of onions and tomatoes or can add cashew nuts in it. If you wish, add whole spices.

You can also refer to the “Paneer Makhani” blog to make the gravy but this recipe does not require butter.
