Steamed Asparagus Recipe
The steamed asparagus recipe is the easiest side dish that goes great with almost everything. If you want to start eating healthy then steaming vegetables is the way to go.

Steamed Asparagus with melted butter
Ingredients:
- Asparagus spears 1 lb
- Melted Butter 2 tbsp
- Lemon juice 1 tsp
- Salt 1/2 tsp
- Black pepper ¼ tsp
- Garlic powder ¼ tsp
- Water 2 cups
Equipment needed:
- Steamer pan
Directions:
- Fill the bottom half of the steamer pan with water.
- Now cut off the ends of the asparagus spears and place them in the top portion of the steamer pan.
- Let it steam for at least 6 mins or until the asparagus is tender.
- Once the asparagus spears are done, place them in a platter pour the melted butter, lemon juice, salt, pepper and garlic powder in a bowl and mix well.
- Now cover with the asparagus spears with this mixture making sure that they are well coated and serve.Â
 Steamed Asparagus with parmesan
Ingredients:
- Asparagus spears 1 lb
- Lemon 1
- Grated parmesan cheese 4 tbsp
- Olive oil 4 tbsp
- Water 1 cup
- Black pepper to taste
Directions:
- Chop off the end of the asparagus spears and set them aside.
- Take a heavy-bottomed saucepan and pour the water into it. Then place a steaming basket in this pan and spread the asparagus on it.
- Cover the saucepan with a lid and let it steam for at least 6 mins.
- Extract the juice from the lemon and set it aside and peel the zest of the lemon and set it aside.
- Once the asparagus spears are done, place them in a platter and cover with olive oil making sure that they are evenly coated.
- Now pour in the lemon juice, lemon zest, parmesan cheese and sprinkle pepper over them and serve.
Steamed Asparagus with hollandaise sauce
Ingredients:
- 2 lb asparagus
- 3 egg yolks
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- ¼ tsp salt
- 9 tbsp melted butter
- 2 cup water
Directions:
- Cut the ends of the asparagus spears and set them aside.
- Fill water in a heavy-bottomed saucepan and bring it to a boil
- Once the water has boiled, place a steamer basket in it and spread the asparagus spears in the steamer basket and cover with a lid.
- Let them steam for at least 6 mins and set them aside.
- Take a blender and pour in the lemon juice, egg yolks and salt and blend for 30 seconds.
- With the blender still running, pour a little bit of the melted butter into the blender and allow it to emulsify.
- Keep adding in the rest of the butter slowly and continue to blend until it is well combined.
- Place the asparagus on a platter and generously drizzle the hollandaise sauce over them.
- Garnish with some lemon zest if needed and serve.
Steamed Asparagus with almond butter
Ingredients:
- Asparagus 2 lb
- Salted butter 6 tbsp
- Finely diced shallots 3 tbsp
- Minced garlic 1 clove
- Chopped parsley 3 tbsp
- Lemon juice 2 tsp
- Lemon zest 2 tsp
- Sliced almonds ½ cup
- Water 2 cups
Directions:
- Chop off the ends of the asparagus spears and set them aside.
- Fill water in a heavy-bottomed saucepan and bring it to a boil.
- Once the water has boiled, place a steamer basket in it and spread the asparagus spears in the steamer basket and cover with a lid.
- Let them steam for at least 6 mins and then set them aside.
- Place a skillet over medium heat and add in 1 tbsp of the butter.
- Once it melts, add in the shallots and garlic and saute for at least 5 mins.
- Now add in the remaining butter, parsley, lemon juice and lemon zest and saute until the butter melts.
- Add in the almonds and continue to stir until the butter turns brown.
- Add in the asparagus, season with salt and black pepper and serve.
