Most of the time black lentils are used to make dal makhani. And that fact adds more taste to it which is unique. There are some factors which you have to take care of while making the perfect Dal makhani for your home. They are:
✅ Always try to cook it in very low heat which will create a unique taste in it.
✅ You should take care of the right amount of butter and cream.
✅ The spices should be less in a dal makhani because the major flavor will come from the cream and butter and not from the excessive amount of spices.

- Half cup Black Lentils
- 2 tablespoons of Rajma
- 1 big onion chopped
- 1 pinch of salt
- 4 tablespoons of butter
- Half cup of tomato puree
- 1 teaspoon of ginger and garlic paste
- Half cup of cream
- 1 teaspoon of red chilli powder
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of garam masala powder
How to Make Dal Makhani – Method:
✅ At first, you need to rinse the black lentils and also some rajma. Then you have to keep it soaked in some water overnight.
✅ In the morning you have to strain the black lentils and rajma from that water and put it in a pressure cooker to boil them with a bit of salt in it. Give only 10 times whistles in medium heat. And then you should lower the heat a bit and cook it for some more time.
✅ After boiling the lentils completely, you have to match them and let it be cooked in simmer.
✅ Now to make the real masala of Dal makhani, you need to take some ghee and butter both and fry some chopped onion. When the onion gets a bit golden brown, you have to add some ginger and garlic paste and cook it some more time.
✅ Now you need to add the tomato puree in it. When the gravy becomes smoothed you need to add lentils along with the other spices. And you need to keep it in low heat so that it is cooked well.
✅ Lastly, you need to add some sugar and mix it properly. Then you need to add some butter and cream, at last, to make it smooth and to get the real aroma of Dal makhani.
